Troubleshooting

Captures that won't process, missing extractions, sync problems and what to send us.

A capture is stuck on pending

Pending means it hasn't reached the backend yet. That's almost always connectivity — AI processing runs server-side, so a capture taken offline waits until you're back online. Open the app with a connection and it should move to processing.

A capture failed

The original is kept, so nothing is lost. A failure usually means the model output didn't match the expected shape and was rejected rather than half-saved — which is the intended behaviour. Retry it; if it fails repeatedly on the same content, that's worth sending to us.

Zephyr didn't find the action I expected

Two common causes. First, extraction is deliberately conservative: greetings and pleasantries are not actions, and a speculative sentence ("Sarah might need the schedule") is treated as a possible reading rather than a created action.

Second, low-confidence readings below 0.50 are not surfaced at all. If the original text didn't clearly express an obligation, there may not have been enough to extract. Rephrasing the capture with a name and a deadline usually resolves it.

The deadline it extracted is wrong

Edit it — every field on an action is editable, and the edit is recorded in the activity trail. Relative dates ("next Thursday") depend on when the capture was made rather than when you review it, which is the usual source of an off-by-a-week.

A voice note or scan didn't produce anything

Expected, for now. Server-side transcription and OCR aren't finished, so a voice or scan capture asks you to type the gist. The audio or image is stored either way. See capturing work.

I'm not getting follow-up notifications

Follow-ups appear in the app's own inbox — the bell on the Today screen — not as push notifications. Background notifications while the app is closed aren't implemented yet.

What to include when you email us

Your device and OS version, what you were doing, what you expected and what happened instead. If it's a capture problem, the capture type matters. Please don't send us sensitive content from a real capture — a description is enough to start.
